for KING + COUNTRY's Joel Smallbone is running for the songwriter/composer seat on the Recording Academy of Nashville Board.
Smallbone says it would be a dream come true and a way to give back.
"From my earliest memory, my whole life has been oriented around music, and if there’s an opportunity to give back in any way, lift up others in the ways I’ve been lifted, I'd be honored," said Joel in a post on Instagram.
He says he is eager, humbled and passionate about the prospect of serving and would be thrilled to be considered.
Founded over five decades ago as the Academy's fourth Chapter, the Nashville Chapter has become an institution in the Nashville music community.
