The Strathmore Theatre Players' Guild had a strong opening weekend for its musical based on The Addams Family.

The first show was on Friday, Mar. 21, and took place at Hope Community Church in Strathmore.

"We’ve been working on this show actively for just over six months now," said Robert Cole, director of the show. "The opening weekend went surprisingly well. Our crowd, starting at the preview, just built up over the course of the weekend."

"We probably got a few hundred people over the course of the opening weekend, which is huge for this town."

The show will also run for the next two weekends, with a closed-captioning performance on Mar. 29 for those who are hearing impaired.

"We're streaming our audio and video to a captioning company, and they'll send us back opera-style captions that we'll put across the bottom of the stage."

Following the shows, the cast and crew will hold a private after-party to celebrate the production.

"Once we are able to take the set off the stage and give Hope back to the church, we'll sit back for a second and have a huge party."

Tickets are available at the Vault Cultural Collective or online through the Vault's website.
