A southwest man will be spending the next 150 days in prison after being sentenced earlier this week on several charges stemming from an assault.

Swift Current's Brett Padley appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court on Wednesday morning, where he was sentenced on four summary counts and handed the lengthy prison sentence.

Judge Jacobson ruled for 60 days on count one and 90 days on count two, to be served concurrently. In addition to another 45 days and another 15 days, for a total of 150 days to be served in prison.

The 33-year-old was also given a two-year weapons prohibition and ordered to pay a $400 fine by December 31, 2025.

Swift Current Municipal RCMP originally charged Padley in July 2024 in relation to an assault with a weapon that took place the same month.
