The U11 AA Wheatland Hawks hockey team is lacing up their skates for the provincial championship.
There are eight teams taking part in the tournament, with some travelling as far as Leduc, Strathcona, and Lethbridge. All of the games take place at the Strathmore Family Centre Arena, which started on Thursday, March 27.
Here is a schedule for the tournament:
Friday, Mar. 28
- 1:45 p.m. - Wheatland vs. Lakeland
- 4:00 p.m. - Red Deer vs. Leduc
- 6:15 p.m. - Lethbridge vs. Strathcona
Saturday, Mar. 29
- 8:30 a.m. - Springbank vs. Wainwright
- 10:45 a.m. - Lakeland vs. Red Deer
- 1:00 p.m. - Leduc vs. Wheatland
- 3:15 p.m. - Wainwright vs. Lethbridge
- 5:30 p.m. - Strathcona vs. Springbank
Sunday, Mar. 30
- 8:00 a.m. - Semifinals between Pool A first and Pool B second
- 10:30 a.m. - Semifinals between Pool B first and Pool A second
- 4:00 p.m. - Championship final between semifinal winners
Two games were already played in the tournament on Thursday - one between Wheatland and Red Deer, and another between Springbank and Lethbridge.
Two Friday games were already played between Lakeland and Leduc and Strathcona and Wainwright.
Opening ceremonies for the tournament begin on Friday at 12:45 p.m.
