Snow, ice, and slush have created dangerous driving conditions in and around Airdrie on Wednesday morning, leading to collisions and travel delays.

Emergency crews responded to a crash on Edmonton Trail near Third Avenue. Airdrie Fire and EMS were on scene, but there were no immediate details on injuries or the number of vehicles involved. The scene is now clear.

Stoney Trail N.W. was closed southbound from Crowchild Trail and Scenic Acres View N.W. to Nose Hill Drive. An early morning fatal vehicle collision led to the road closure for an investigation.

Drivers are advised to slow down, leave extra space between vehicles, and allow additional time for travel. Road conditions are expected to remain hazardous as winter weather continues today.
