Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell's son, Baylee, has caught the music bug.

The 22-year-old auditioned for American Idol and, after a stunning performance in front of judges, was given a golden ticket to Hollywood.

He was even given the chance to perform a duet with his dad in front of judges, which brought Brian to tears.

During his March 31 performance, Baylee performed an original track, singing a song called "Hey Jesus."

"I wrote this song when I was going through a pretty tough time in my life," said Littrell before he sang. "I lost somebody I'd loved. My grandma was my best friend."

He said that with his dad being away on tour, his grandma would always step in.

"She understood me like not many people do. My grandma passed away three years ago, almost," said Littrell. "I thought she was gonna be around for moments like this. I never expected to lose her, so when I did, I questioned everything."

Baylee says it was during this time he lost his faith, something he thought was gone forever. However, he says while writing this song, he was able to find his faith again.

Baylee's dad, Brian, got emotional as he watched his son perform.

American Idol will host its first-ever Songs of Faith episode on Easter Sunday.
