The Kindersley Kids Academy Early Learning Centre (ELC) fundraiser has received a significant boost thanks to a $100,000 donation from Synergy Credit Union
The cheque was presented on April 3. In recognition of the contribution, Synergy Credit Union will receive naming rights for the building’s staff room.
This donation adds to several others from local businesses. Kelly Insurance Brokers Ltd. has contributed $150,000, while the Kindersley and District Co-op has donated $250,000, along with an additional $2,710.82 raised through Fuel Good Day. With all of these donations, they are nearing the 70% mark of their total fundraising goal.
The Kids Academy ELC, located at 200 Thomson Dr. in the Rosedale area, will be a sister location to Kinder Kollege at Westberry School. The new centre will offer 90 licensed childcare spaces, as well as 30 spots for before- and after-school care.
The expansion comes in response to growing demand in the community. The Westberry location is currently at capacity with 25 licensed spaces and a waitlist of more than 120 children.
Once completed, Kids Academy ELC is expected to provide over 20+ full- and part-time jobs, in addition to several casual positions. Groundbreaking on the new facility is expected to begin this spring, with the centre planned to open in the fall of 2026.
As a non-profit organization, Kids Academy ELC is accepting donations and are able to provide charitable tax receipts. Contributions can be made by cash, cheque or e-transfer, and pledge options are available for larger gifts. To donate, residents are encouraged to contact a member of the fundraising team.
