Property owners in Chestermere are receiving assessments.
The city announced that it began mailing out assessments last week, asking residents to ensure their property was assessed correctly through the city's website.
"If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact Accurate Assessments directly at 1-877-438-2305 or bob@aag-gis.com," wrote the city on social media.
There are also several open houses planned at City Hall for residents to review their assessments.
The open houses take place on:
- April 24, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- April 25, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- May 15, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- May 16, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- May 27, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- May 28, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The city added that residents can file a complaint within sixty days of the mailing date, according to the Municipal Government Act. However, the complaints can't be about the municipal tax rate.
In Alberta, the amount of tax a property owner pays are according to the value of the property.
