Corey Lueck has been in music for as long as he can remember and now has a new song out, "Not Finished With Me."
"My dad played the saxophone, my brother plays guitar and bass and my sister plays piano. I actually started as a drummer," Lueck said. "I also loved singing."
Lueck's love for music led Corey and his brother to start a rock band. "At this time, I really was not a Christian. I always believed in God, but I grew up Catholic and I didn't take it seriously."
He said that it was an invitation that led to him to make the decision to take it seriously. "My wife and sister had been going to a church and she had invited me and you know, nothing really happened the first time or two, but then I just got up one Sunday and she said she was going and I said 'I'm coming with you,' and I got up in the church that day and just said, 'I want to thank you. I know you guys have been praying for me for some time. But I just feel like I have to tell you that I'm giving my life to God.'"
From there, Lueck got heavily involved in the church, and the worship team. The Regina, Sask. native recently released a new song, "Not Finished With Me." A song that was heavily inspired by Philippians 16, "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
"He [Paul] learned to be content whether things were going well, whether he's in jail at this time. He says in Chapter 2 that it'd be better for me if I went home to be with God. But God's not finished with me yet. I believe I've got some time here yet because it's better for the church if I'm still here."
Lueck hopes that listeners will be reminded that, "If you're still breathing, then God's not finished with you yet. He's got things for you to do."
