A pair of Saskatchewan Roughriders made a stop in Rosetown at the end of March for the "Rider Reading Program".
On March 24, Roughriders long snapper Jorgen Hus, a Rider Reading veteran, was joined by offensive lineman Noah Zerr for a visit at Walter Aseltine School. The elementary school was just the latest place of learning to get a visit from the Roughriders, encouraging and supporting reading.
Rider Reading is in place to help promote literacy for Saskatchewan kids at a young age. The Pre-K to Grade 4 students were read too, while students in Grade 5 and Grade 6 took part in the "Win with Wellness" talks that cover topics like understanding mental wellness, tips for managing anxiety and stress, supportive and healthy relationships, and various support and tools available for youth in Saskatchewan, that according to the Roughriders website.
"The PreK and Kindergarten students each received a hard copy book from the Riders that they could keep and take home!" shared the Sun West School Division post online. "It was a great day for the whole school!"
