Strathmore residents are being encouraged to get out and shop this weekend.
The Parade of Garage Sales, will be held in town on Saturday, April 12.
The Strathmore Municipal Library will be set up handing out hot chocolate and coffee for $1, along with items for sale at their table.
Ann Horn, chair of the library board, said the facility got involved with the event this year to help with fundraising.
"One of the reasons that we've done this is we're doing continual fundraising for the library all the time, and we strongly believe in literacy for all ages. And so that is one of the major things that we're supporting is literacy for young children and also getting books out to seniors who can't get to the library."
Horn told StrathmoreNow that the garage sales will help the library financially after tariffs from the United States have made things more expensive for the facility.
"If you look at what's happening with the tariffs right now, our funds are not going as far as they used to. Even though we're getting a lot of Canadian authors, those books are published in the United States."
The library is also offering residents who don't have a setup for the event to set up in the parking lot.
