Dozens of local businesses were looking for new employees at the Spring 2025 Strathmore Job Fair.
The event, held Wednesday, April 9, at the Travelodge was put together by Prospect Human Servies.
"It's an employer market, and job seekers are feeling discouraged. You hear from them about how many places they apply and how long they wait just to get an initial response," said Erin Fenton, work force advisor with Prospect.
"Having the opportunity to meet with the employer face to face and to have a quick chat, it really gives them the upper hand."
Some of the organizations at the event included The Town of Strathmore, AgeCare, and Pizza 249. Fenton claimed that some of the businesses were offering pre-selection interviews for those who were interested.
"It's been really easy here in Strathmore. We've done it a few years; we have a good network established. We've already built a reputation, and our employers know what to expect."
The event was done in partnership with the Town of Strathmore.
