The Luseland Police Service responded to a variety of calls in March, ranging from serious crimes to community assistance.

Officers investigated two reports of sexual assault and one case of fraud over $5,000, which remains under investigation. A separate report of mischief to a motor vehicle was closed due to insufficient evidence.

Police responded to a report of a structure fire, a family dispute, and two calls related to mental health concerns. A panic alarm was also attended to during the month.

A report of possible gunshots in town was determined to be fireworks, and police conducted a wellness check at the request of a concerned citizen.

Luseland police assisted the RCMP with multiple operations, including the recovery of a stolen tractor and the arrests of three individuals, two women and one man. Officers also helped investigate a break and enter at a local church and a separate incident initially reported as a break and enter at a residence, which was later deemed unfounded.

Other calls included a report of an assault, a stolen vehicle, and an abandoned ATV, the owner of which was located. Police also received complaints of an impaired driver, a motorist passing a school bus, and another general driving concern.

Five reports of suspicious activity or vehicles were logged over the course of the month.

Police also provided medical assistance until EMS arrived on scene.

The Luseland Police Service encourages residents to remain vigilant and continue reporting suspicious activity to their Police Service at 306-372-4844.
