Lillie Poff (nee Spetz) was born to John and Vivian Spetz on their farm north of Admiral, Saskatchewan on February 27, 1931. Lillie passed away peacefully surrounded by family at The Meadows in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on April 8, 2025.
Lillie grew up on the family farm in the Admiral area. She received her public school education at Congress, then went to Swift Current for grades 11 and 12, and then on to Moose Jaw where she received her teaching certificate. She taught in Simmie School, Clairbank School and would often sub for the Simmie Hutterite Colony. Lillie was also a vital part of the mixed farming operation that she and Clayton operated in the Simmie area.
Lillie is survived by: children Brett (Ivy) Poff, Valli (Eldon) Elmgren, Luane (Murray) Wagner, Barry (Kathy) Poff, and Vicki (Marcel) Reimer; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Annie Poff, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Clayton Poff; daughter Diane Poff; parents John and Vivian Spetz; parents-in-law Ralph and Leona Poff; sisters Ellen Poff, and Anna (Dolly) Faulk, Christina Spetz, and Thelma Spetz; brothers Pat Spetz, Alvin Spetz, and Keith Spetz; daughter-in- law Shannon Poff; brothers-in-law Reginald Poff, Roger Poff, Terry Poff, and Del Poff; sisters-in-law Madeline Spetz, Sheila Poff, and Lorraine Poff.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 26, 2025 at 2:30 pm at East Side Church of God, 2105 Adams St, in Swift Current with Pastor Kevin Snyder officiating. A luncheon will take place following the service. The Interment for Mrs. Lillie Poff will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Swift Current prior to the Celebration of Life.
