Brooks RCMP has arrested one person following a threat at a local school Monday morning.
The incident took place at Brooks Composite High School.
"For everyone’s safety, the school was immediately placed on a lockdown. RCMP attended and completed a thorough search of the school and found no threat," police said in a news release.
"The school was then placed on a hold and secure while the investigation progressed."
According to RCMP, the investigation determined the threat involved students from the school.
A male youth was arrested at his house in Tilley, Alta.
Grasslands Public Schools also issued a statement to reassure families.
"At no point was there an individual with a weapon on any school premises. Reports circulating on social media suggesting otherwise are inaccurate," the division said.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
