Rocky View Schools is looking ahead to accommodate growing student populations.

The division has secured approval for seven new school projects over the past 15 months.

“This significant number of new school projects is good news for RVS after years of steady enrolment increases in our schools, particularly in Airdrie, Cochrane and Chestermere,” said Board Chair, Fiona Gilbert.

“These new schools will provide crucial new student spaces while improving the learning and working environments for students and staff in these communities.”

Among the projects is a Kindergarten to Grade 9 school in Dawson's Landing and a high school in the community of Chelsea.

According to the division, enrolment has grown by more than 15 per cent over the past five years and 44 per cent over the past decade.
