Superfans are the lifeblood of sports teams, energizing the crowd, and ensuring the players are hyped.

Jayme Minor is one of them.

His passion for the team started when he was younger and his dad would take him to games.

"Theoren Fleury was my favourite player back then," said Minor.

He remembers 2004 when the Flames were in the Stanley Cup final against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The team allowed fans to come inside to watch the game at the Saddledome on the big screen.

That's when the trumpet made an appearance.

"My Dad said you should bring your trumpet. I did; they let me bring it into the game and the fans went crazy. I think that was my spark as a superfan," added Minor.

Since then, he's even dressed up in a wizard costume at the games.

He said he was in Value Village buying costumes when he noticed a children's wizard costume out of the corner of his eye.

He told his friend he had to buy it for him. After that he started wearing the costume to Flames games.

"I eventually got a custom one made of red flames. It's got the Flames logo on it, and it says, 'Wizard Guy' at the back."

Minor says his girlfriend has a pink princess wizard costume that she wears to games as well.

"We kind of created a brand with that too," said Minor.

The Flames will take on the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night with their season on the line.

Lifelong Flames fan Sean Phillips is new to Strathmore.

He says if goaltender Dustin Wolf plays well, the team has a shot.

"For myself as a fan that didn't think they would do much, to see them fighting for a spot now, it's amazing."

Phillips says it will take every player to ensure the team sneaks into the playoffs.

"It's all hands-on deck," said Phillips.

Phillips says he likes to relax and watch the Flames in a quieter environment.

"I like to stay at home and enjoy my atmosphere with my family and watch the game with them."

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. at the Dome.
