Firefighters across southern Alberta are gearing up to test their strength at an upcoming fundraiser.
Hype for Hospice is coming back to Strathmore.
The festivities will be held on National Palliative Care Week.
It will also feature a fire truck pull where teams of eight to 10 firefighters will partake.
Bradley Johnson, who serves as a firefighter in Strathmore, will be one of many pulling the big red truck.
"Just being in the fire department, we're always involved in the community, and we like doing things and outreach, and helping out other people. This just seemed like the perfect way to get involved, to help people out, and to promote a great cause."
Former teacher Karen Harris is organizing the fire truck pull, and she said all the invited departments were keen to participate.
"This is the third year that we've done this, and we just started by sending invites to various local fire departments, and I have to say they embraced it right away, from Standard to Carseland, Wheatland Fire Department, and Strathmore Fire Department. Everybody was on board right away."
The event will feature many different activities, from face painting to musical performances.
Hype for Hospice begins May 4 at 11 a.m. at Kinsmen Park.
