Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning for Rocky View County near Cochrane, as a significant winter weather system moves into the Alberta foothills tonight.
The warning states that rain will transition to snow overnight as temperatures drop, with the snow expected to be heavy and wet during the initial stages.
Up to 10 centimetres of snow is anticipated by morning, with additional accumulations on Monday potentially pushing totals beyond 20 centimetres.
Forecasters anticipate that areas northwest of Calgary, including Cochrane, will be hit hardest.
The snowfall is expected to taper off by Monday night.

Drivers and residents are being advised to prepare for poor travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced in heavy snow, and roads, sidewalks, and parking lots could become slippery and challenging to navigate.
Motorists are urged to slow down, maintain a safe following distance, and be ready to stop if visibility drops. Residents clearing snow are reminded to take frequent breaks and avoid overexertion.
