The Saskatchewan Rush battled back for a dominant 16-7 win Saturday night over the Ottawa Black Bears. After weathering an early offensive burst from Ottawa, the Rush responded with a huge second half to take control, energizing the SaskTel Centre crowd.
The Rush went down 4-0 early before the Rush stopped the bleeding, the game tightening up for a 5-4 Black Bears lead after one half. After halftime the Rush came out firing with six goals to Ottawa's two for an 11-6 lead after three quarters, Robert Church putting the game on ice as he closed out his regular season campaign with a sock-trick to help round out the 16-7 final.
Faceoff man Jake Naso was great in the circle with 17/25 wins, chipping in offensively as well with a goal. After the shaky start defensively for the Rush, goalie Frank Scigliano finished the game strong with 30 saves.
