Hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg is switching things up and taking us to church with a new gospel album, set to be released early next week.

The rapper and former judge on The Voice announced last week that he is releasing a new gospel album on Death Row Records.

"It's called Altar Call," said Snoop Dogg in a video he posted on Facebook. "Ya, you heard it first, a gospel album. God is good. Won't he do it?"

Altar Call is dedicated to his late mother, Beverley Tate,  who passed away in 2021.

"This album is a reflection of what she has taught me — to use my voice and my platform to spread love and heal the world," said Snoop in an exclusive interview with Okayplayer. "Just another chapter out of the Bible of Love."

This is his second gospel album. His first, Bible of Love, which featured Faith Evans and Charlie Wilson, was released in 2018.

Altar Call will be released on April 27, 2025.
