The Winnipeg Jets are heading to St. Louis with a 2-0 series lead after a tight 2-1 win over the Blues in Game 2 of their first-round matchup.

Mark Scheifele opened the scoring late in the first period, firing a shot on net that found its way past Jordan Binnington after a collision between Blues forward Jimmy Snuggerud and Binnington.

Snuggerud redeemed himself before the period ended, snapping a power-play goal past Connor Hellebuyck with just one second remaining on the clock to tie the game 1-1.

The teams remained even through a scoreless second period.

Early in the third, Kyle Connor netted the game-winner at 1:43 with a quick one-timer off a feed from Cole Perfetti. It’s Connor’s second game-winning goal in as many games this postseason.

Hellebuyck made 21 saves for Winnipeg, helping preserve the lead through a physical final frame.

The series now shifts to St. Louis for Games 3 and 4. Game 3 is set for Thursday at 8:30 p.m. CDT.
