Rob Carnie - SUMA, the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association. You just came back from the convention. Can you update us anything that you took away?
Maryse Carmichael – Yes, so it is an annual three-day convention. We alternate between Regina and Saskatoon.
We were in Saskatoon this week, and we were accompanied by two of our councilors at the Convention. It was a really great chance to meet with other municipalities, exchange ideas on what they do in their community, what works really well, what maybe doesn't work as well and needs some changes. It’s also a chance to meet with the provincial government, so many ministers were there, MLA's were there during the week, so a chance to meet with staff, and with ministers.
We even had a full bear pit session with all the ministers, and the Premier that was there answering questions from the crowd. It was a chance to meet with and exchange with other municipalities on what they do.
Rob - Revenue sharing has been increased correct?
Maryse - That's correct. A six per cent increase in revenue sharing, bringing into the city just over $8 million for this year. We're very grateful to the province, one of the only provinces in Canada that has a system like this. We benefit from it in the City of Moose Jaw, and we're quite happy.
