January 11, 1956 – April 19, 2025
Sheree Lee was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, to Lloyd and Norma Wellbrock. She was raised on their family farm between Cadillac and Ponteix. She loved her life on the farm, and loved riding her horse across the prairies. Sheree attended Cadillac and Ponteix Schools, before graduating in 1974, from Swift Current Comprehensive High School.
Sheree was married quickly after high school and became a mother to Christopher Brian (1975), and Joni Lee (1977). Shortly after she started her work career at the City of Swift Current, Cypress College, Medicine Hat College, and the Medicine Hat Police Service as a file clerk, 911 operator, and victim services. She then returned to Swift Current and continued supporting people as a patrol clerk and dispatcher with the RCMP and then later again as a victim services coordinator. Sheree went on to work at the Pioneer Co-op, and eventually ended her career, in her favorite job of all, as an educational assistant at Ecole Centennial. Through all this time, she would find passion in buying and renovating 29 houses.
Sheree was artistic, creative, and loved to cook. The walls of her home, and her friend’s and family’s homes were covered with her beautiful, one of a kind artworks.
Sheree overcame many challenges in her life. Everything seemed to turn around for her when she finally met the love of her life, Mike. Together they enjoyed travelling, and adventures, and managed to pack a great deal of love, life, and happy memories into the short time they had together. Sadly, cancer ended her life much too soon.
Sheree is survived by her loving husband Michael; son Chris; daughter Joni; and grandchildren: Chelsea, Dawson, and Lucie-Anna. Also keeping her memory alive are her siblings: Gary, Nancy, Lori; nieces and nephews; Michael’s family, and the countless friends that had also become her family, and last but not least, her little dog Maggie.
Sheree’s family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and amazing nursing staff at the Cypress Regional Hospital for their excellent care of Sheree in the last few months of her life.
The funeral service for Sheree will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations made to a victim’s service organization of the donor’s choice.
