22-year-old man charged in death of Red Pheasant First Nation woman

Following a continued investigation by the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes unit, an adult male was arrested in relation to the death of 63-year-old Pearl Benson from Red Pheasant First Nation. The arrest took place at a correctional centre in Manitoba.

22-year-old Billy Leon from Toronto, Ontario has been charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of failure to comply with release order conditions.

Leon is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on April 24.
