A crop of Saskatchewan Junior Female Hockey League hopefuls will be hitting the ice this weekend in Kindersley and Outlook for spring camp. Both the Western Prairie Junior Klippers and Outlook Mainline Ice Hawks are welcoming in players born between 2004-2010.
The Klippers are hosting a two-day camp from the West Central Events Centre in Kindersley. On Saturday separate groups will take part in skills and drills from 11:00-12:30 PM, and 3:00-4:30, and then on Sunday players will be split into teams for a scrimmage from 3:00-4:30.
A fun announcement back at the start of April saw the Klippers bringing in a special coach for camp. Helping the team out this weekend will be none other than former fan favourite of the Kindersley Jr. Klippers, Josh Pufahl.
With ice out for the season at Outlook's Jim Kook Rec Plex, the Ice Hawks one day long spring camp is taking place at Agriplace in Saskatoon. The camp runs all day with registration starting at 7:15 AM, players on the ice for camp between 8:15 AM and 6:00 PM.
The Ice Hawks have been keeping busy on social media since a heartbreaking loss in the SJFHL Bourgault Cup final to Regina. They have been celebrating the players that got them to the championship, sharing messages from Ice Hawks players on social media, on what it means to be part of the team.
The team also conducted a poll asking fans for their favourite Ice Hawks player, and over 1700 votes went to Brooklynne Francon as you can see below!
The Lumsden Lynx kicked off the month with their spring camp in early April. According to the SJFHL website, the Regina Rebels are set to hold their camp this weekend, while the Saskatoon Prairie Blaze will follow with their own next weekend at Agriplace in Saskatoon.
