The Smile Cookie campaign is coming back to Strathmore.

The campaign will run from April 28 to May 4.

Kevin Korpi is the owner of the Strathmore and Langdon Tim Horton's locations, and he explained what the Smile Cookie campaign is.

"It's a campaign where what we do at Tim Horton's is we bake chocolate chunk cookies, and we decorate them with them with a smile, and then we sell them and give all the money to charity."

This year, all the funds from the campaign will go towards Strathmore Family and Community Support Services (FCSS).

"When we decided to bring the Smile Cookie campaign local, we looked around and decided who is out there doing the most good in the community that could use a shot in the arm like this, and we came across FCSS and we all talked about it and decided they're the best fit for our program", Korpi said.

FCSS has been the recipient of donations for eight years, and according to Korpi, over those years, more than $117,000 has been given to them.

Last year $18.1 million was raised for the campaign across the country. In Strathmore, over $20,000 was raised.

"Here in town, we raised just over $20,000, which is about a dollar and a half per person. So, we actually sold triple the national average here in town. The community really got behind the program and really supported it," explained Korpi.

Tim Horton's is hoping to sell more than 20,000 cookies locally in Strathmore.

The cookies cost $2 each.
