The City of Dawson Creek is introducing new changes to cat and dog licensing by partnering with DocuPet, a lost pet and licensing platform. This partnership aims to provide pet owners with a more convenient way to license their pets.
Pet owners can now register their pets online at dawsoncreek.docupet.com, over the phone at 250-784-3618, or in person at City Hall. Additionally, licenses can be obtained at the BC South Peace SPCA when adopting a pet.
One of the key benefits of the new system is DocuPet’s HomeSafe™ Licence Service, which includes a 24/7 lost pet service at no extra charge. Each license tag has a unique code that helps reunite lost pets with their owners.
Licenses will now be valid for 365 days from the date of purchase, rather than expiring annually on December 31. Pet owners can also upgrade to designer tags, with 20% of each purchase supporting local animal welfare initiatives.
All cats and dogs in Dawson Creek are required to have a valid license. For more information, visit dawsoncreek.docupet.com.
