An unlikely pairing has led to the gospel being spread in places that no one could ever imagine.
Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll teamed up earlier this year to release a new version of Lake's song "Hard Fought Hallelujah."
The song resonated with fans, with the pair performing at the Grand Ole Opry and American Idol.
Most recently, the duo performed in front of over 75,000 people at Stagecoach 2025.
"I don’t even know how to process all that just went down," said Brandon Lake in a post on social media. "Something wild is happening, I wish I could tell each of you about. God’s so kind. As unforgettable as the moments on stage were, I’m thankful mostly for all the profound convos backstage. Hoping we get the invite back after how you all responded to last night. That was wild!!!"
Lake and Jelly Roll also performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
"I love how this song came together," said Kimmel to Jelly Roll. "Correct me if I have this wrong, you heard this song, you're like 'Oh, this is a great song. This is a song that really touches me.' Brandon does Christian music primarily, and you said, 'I want to be a part of this song.'"
"I was just such a fan of the song," Jelly Roll responded. "I didn't know it was a Christian artist, by the way, or I might not have been as confident and called him."
Before he could make the connection, there was already a conversation in the making. His manager let him know there was a Christian artist who wanted to do a song together. That artist was Brandon Lake.
"I was like, 'We have to do that song,'" he told Kimmel. "I felt like it was God in every way it could be. This man has been such a mentor in my life. Such a minister. Brandon Lake is the real deal."
Jelly roll currently lives on a massive acreage, with plans to open a youth development centre on the land in the future.
