Nicole Troyer, from Grande Prairie, is gearing up for an incredible challenge that is now official. Starting June 10, she will embark on a monumental 790 km run across Alberta, from Lloydminster to Demmitt, running a marathon each day for 19 days to raise awareness for mental health.

Nicole has been planning this project for a year, and she emphasizes the importance of mental and moral support from those around her.

"The success of this run lies in the support of the people around me," she says.

Her daily routine will include running 21 km every morning, followed by a 10 km walk, and then an 11 km run. She invites everyone to join her by running, walking, or biking along the route.

The journey will follow Highway 16 from Lloydminster, detour north of Edmonton, and then continue along Highway 43 through Grande Prairie to Demmitt.

The total cost of the run is estimated at $13,600, covering expenses such as shoes, gas, self-care, food and nutrition, camper rental, and insurance. All outstanding funds after the run will be donated to Solstice Integrated Wellness Center, which supports youth struggling with addiction, trauma, and other mental health concerns.

For updates, follow her Instagram page @mhawarenessrun or search "Miles for Smiles" on Instagram. She has also launched a GoFundMe page.

Nicole is excited and ready to take on this incredible challenge. "It's truly a monumental task, but I'm ready," she shares.
