RCMP in Macklin responded to a variety of calls between April 22 and April 28, including criminal investigations, a family dispute, and one traffic-related complaint.

Officers acted as mediators in a family-related matter early in the week. Later, a significant enforcement action led to charges against three individuals after police executed a search warrant at a residence.

As a result of the search, a 34-year-old man from Macklin was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. A 52-year-old man from Smiley, Sask., was charged with possession of property obtained by crime, failing to comply with an undertaking condition, and possession of methamphetamine. A 32-year-old man from Lashburn, Sask., faces two counts of possession of property obtained by crime. The investigation remains ongoing.

Other calls for service included a report of a suspicious substance on a vehicle, though insufficient evidence was found to proceed. RCMP also investigated a complaint of criminal harassment, resulting in a verbal warning being issued after officers spoke with those involved.

Police received a report of an attempted truck theft and a trespassing complaint; both matters are still under review with limited evidence available at this time.

Anyone with information related to these or other crimes in the Macklin, Unity or Wilkie areas is encouraged to contact their local RCMP detachment or submit an anonymous tip through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
