New chicken restaurant opening in Strathmore

Strathmore is getting another new chicken restaurant.

In mid-April residents noticed signs for a Chicken Delight posted outside of a vacant business at Edgefield Place.

The business is the former home of Fritou Chicken, which operated in Strathmore between 2019 and early 2025.

Chicken Delight began in 1952 and is based out of Manitoba, having 20 locations across Canada and six in the United States.

In late 2024 a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen opened in Strathmore, making Chicken Delight the third chicken-based restaurant to either move in or out of town in the last 12 months.
