Elections Canada has released the preliminary election results from all 269 polls in the Foothills riding.

Of the 95,225 registered voters (not including those who registered on election day), 71,903 cast their ballots in the 2025 federal election.

That equates to a voter turnout of 75.51 percent.

By comparison, turnout was 64,467 in 2021, with 65,881 votes cast in 2019.

Party Candidate Votes
Conservative John Barlow 54,871
Liberal John Bruinsma 13,680
NDP Kaitte Aurora 1,929
PPC Paul O'Halloran 802
Green Emma Hoberg 621

MP John Barlow was re-elected with 54,871 votes, or 76.3 per cent of the vote.

It's the highest number of votes Barlow has received in his five campaigns, with Barlow averaging about 48,000 votes per election from 2015 to 2021.

This wasn't his highest margin of victory, though. In 2019, Barlow won with 82 per cent of the vote, receiving 53,872 ballots.

Liberal candidate John Bruinsma saw the highest turnout of any of Barlow's past opponents, with 13,680 votes, totalling 19 per cent.

In contrast, 2021 saw a higher spread of votes among other candidates, with the NDP and PPC candidates receiving just over 5,000 and 5,000 votes, respectively.
