God showed up backstage during American Idol, leading to a moment of worship for the entire cast and crew.

In a video posted on Instagram, contestants and crew can be seen singing "The Blessing," with almost everyone with their hands in the air.

"Such a special moment backstage," said Riley, who made it to the top 24 before being eliminated. "God WILL get His glory."

Fans responded, saying that it was such a beautiful moment to witness.

"American Idol is about to show the country what they’re really missing," said one fan.

"Out of all the American Idol seasons, Jesus has been glorified so much. I'm happy his name is being honoured. I'm happy people are testifying to his truth and his love," said another fan.

Two of the top 12 contestants, Breanna Nix and Canaan James Hill, continue to keep God front and centre, singing gospel or Christian songs each week.

This year, American Idol hosted a three-hour-long never-before-done Songs of Faith episode featuring special guests Brandon Lake and CeCe Winans.
