Those who missed the recent concert at Found have a second chance to enjoy the Cochrane Guitar Quartet on Sunday, May 4, at St. Andrew’s United Church, 128 1st St. E. which will also mark the date's connection to Star Wars.
The performance begins at 4 p.m., an ideal time for the entire family to attend.
The quartet is led by Martin Russell, a classical guitarist and Spanish guitar teacher who has called Cochrane home for 30 years. He is joined by three of his students: Hannah Isinghood, Ryan Kehoe and Griffin Stotscheck.
In their third concert together, the quartet will offer a selection of solos and duets, concluding with Andrew York’s arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker.
Russell says a special Star Wars suite will be performed in recognition of the cultural phenomenon “May the Fourth Be With You.”
"About three-four years ago, Hannah (Isinghood) did a suite of Star Wars music, and she's been relearning that so that she can present that on May the Fourth, so we will have a Star Wars spot in the concert," says
You're invited to get a taste of the magical Nutcracker overture as performed by the musicians below.
This is a charitable event in support of the Helping Hands Food Shed. Both nonperishable items and cash donations will be accepted.
