The Strathmore Wheatland Chamber of Commerce has given its thoughts on the results of the 2025 federal election.
After Election Day on Monday, April 28, David Bexte was elected as the MP of the Bow River riding, and it's projected that the Liberal Party will be running the federal government.
According to chamber secretary Cody Holdaway, the organization sent an email to Bexte, congratulating him for the win.
"Obviously the chamber has to stay pretty neutral and bipartisan, but I think this is a win for Strathmore and Wheatland County, and the chamber looks forward to working with our new MP to build a prosperous county," said Holdaway.
The chamber added that they're looking to build on the momentum they had with former MP Martin Shields.
"We're excited to continue to build the relationship with the federal government at a municipal level."
Bexte received over 43,000 votes in the election, amounting to around 78 per cent of the total vote in the riding.
