In a recent Facebook post, the City of Fort St John posted that the Fort St John RCMP, along with the Fort St John Fire Department, are investigating several fires that have occurred over the past two months.
Eight fires have been reported between February 22, 2025, and April 27, 2025, and evidence gathered to date suggests that the fires were intentionally set. Several of the fires have occurred in recreational areas.
Three fires were reported at Kin Park, two at Surerus Ball Diamonds, while the other three were at different locations in the city. Witnesses who were spoken to told police that several youths were seen this past weekend in the Kin Park area allegedly lighting fires near the Pump Track.
The Fort St John RCMP are seeking witnesses to come forward with any information regarding these fires targeting recreational areas.
