It seems there isn’t a day that goes by without the word “tariff” coming up in a conversation or on the news. When it comes to vehicle tariffs, well, it can get confusing and frustrating for anyone looking to buy a new vehicle. Alyc Keith, General Manager at Okotoks Nissan is doing something about it with help from Nissan Canada.

“They decided not to order vehicles coming from the United States for the next quarter, specifically the Murano, Pathfinder and Frontier. Nissan Canada basically said that it wasn’t in the best interest for our customers to get vehicles from the States and have to raise prices. We’re not playing the ‘it’s on it’s off’ tariff game. We still have a great line-up of vehicles for people because 85% come from Japan and Mexico.”

Taking a stand against tariffs is just another way Okotoks Nissan and Nissan Canada are helping save money for their customers. And you can still get great incentives on the Nissan Kicks and Rogue including a loyalty bonus. There’s still another “change” that adds to the customer experience, Alyc explained.

“Yeah, so anyone who buys a new vehicle gets free oil changes for life and becomes part of our VIP program created this year. We have a fleet of loaners customers use when they come in, and you never have to pay for an oil change as long as you follow the maintenance schedule.”

In addition to improving their customers’ purchasing power, Okotoks Nissan is always going above and beyond with their customer service, whether you’re local to Okotoks or driving in from Calgary. Plus, Alyc talked about yet another way to better serve their customers, with a building upgrade.

“Our new renovations are coming along. We are working on the interior right now and starting on the exterior soon after. These renos have been long overdue and we hope to have them all done before our big Stampede breakfast on July 11th,” said Alyc.

If you’re looking for a used vehicle, Okotoks Nissan has made a commitment to growing their used selection no matter how tough it can be to find the right ones.

Alyc explained, “Used vehicles have been very tough to get since COVID and we want to ensure we have the right ones on our lot. You can see the different makes and models on the front grass when you drive by and we turn them around fast, so I want to make sure we grow the used vehicle side for customers.”

The one aspect that Okotoks Nissan has always been proud of is how they support this great community. The Davis Auto group, which Okotoks Nissan is part of, has always placed community high on their list of core values. Alyc talked about this commitment.

“It’s very important to give back and we have a few things we’re part of. There’s our hockey tournament, golf tournaments we sponsor, and like I mentioned earlier our Stampede Breakfast where we ask everyone who comes by to bring a non-perishable donation to the Okotoks Food Bank.”

Okotoks Nissan is one dealership that stands behind everything they do for the customer, with respect and dedication.
