Cole Trudeau, the owner of CT Power Washing

With warmer weather just around the corner, Steinbach and area residents can’t wait to wash away those last traces of winter. And Cole Trudeau is ready to do the washing for them. The power washing, to be precise.

Trudeau is entering his third season as owner-operator of CT Power Washing, and while he admits he’s still getting used to business ownership he can’t hide his excitement about getting those sidewalks, decks, fences, roofs and backyard living spaces clean and treated for another spring and summer.

“It’s been going great,” he says. “I’m still getting my feet underneath me, but every year has been getting better and better.”

CT Power Washing specializes in power and soft washing applications. Trudeau says the “power” part is what most people are familiar with, and it’s what he uses on hard surfaces such as concrete. Almost everything else, however, needs the subtler touch of soft washing.

“When it comes to siding, roofing and decks,” he says, “I use soft washing, which is kind of letting a chemical do the cleaning for me. The chemical soaks in, and I come back later and rinse it off.”

Using decks and siding as examples, Trudeau explains that wood and other fibres can become damaged quite easily. Given the cost of replacement, it’s always a better idea to get CT Power Washing’s soft chemical washing treatment.

Trudeau also makes sure to point out that his work in no way damages plants, flowers or gardens.

When it comes to scope of service, there’s really nothing CT Power Washing won’t do. In addition to the siding, roofs, decks and most everything else around the house and yard, Trudeau also does window cleaning, fleet and trailer washing, and even car washing from time to time. He’s even cleaned grain barrels.

“I used to detail cars, and my favourite part was always the pressure,” he says. “So, I figured I’d make a business out of it. It’s fun, and it’s truly satisfying.”

CT Power Washing also provides free estimates, and Trudeau encourages anyone with a dirty-looking deck, dusty siding and windows, and really anything else they’d like to have cleaned before summer to simply give him a call.

“I can come in and clean just about anything up,” he says. “I usually charge by the square foot, but I’ll give a free estimate to anyone.”

CT Power washing operates Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, and can be reached by calling (204) 371-8422. The company’s website also breaks down its available services.
