This spring, Stride Credit Union has distributed one million dollars in cash to its members – a significant distribution that reflects the Stride’s growth, stability, and strong financial performance.
“It’s a milestone,” says CEO Brent Budz. “It’s the most that we have ever returned – and it’s going back in cash to members and we’re very excited to be able to do that.”
He says that some time ago the organization decided to put its success back into members’ hands in the form of cash, because it’s important to show Stride Credit Union members that they are valued.
“This dividend reflects more than just financial success – it’s a testament to the power of cooperative banking,” says Budz. “We’re thrilled to share our success with our members because they are the reason we exist. And when the credit union does well, everyone benefits."
In late April, members received this cash back as a direct deposit into their accounts at Stride Credit Union. This payout was calculated based on member account activity and tenure, rewarding those who actively use the credit union’s services.
“Things are going very well at Stride. We continue to grow and our profits have grown as well. Obviously we need to make investments for the future – we need to make sure our credit union is strong and prepared for future growth. But when that success allows, we distribute those profits back to members.”
