The Manitoba Cornhole Association is hosting a provincial tournament this weekend in Steinbach.
Daren Funk, director of the Eastman Cornhole League says it will be a fun and bean-bag filled weekend, kicking off tonight (May 2) at 6 p.m. with a "Switcholio" mixer.
"It's more of a fun event where you just have random partners for the first few games and then you get paired up depending on your standings for the finals," Funk explains.
Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. is singles, and at 4 p.m. a return to doubles, with prices varying based on tiers.
"We have different tiers for skill level, like competitive, intermediate, and social. That way, if it's your first time playing, there's a spot for you to play," he says.
To wrap up the weekend on Sunday, Funk says is a mixed doubles event including men and women.
REGISTRATION DETAILS
He says all ages are invited, and can register for social games up to a minute before an event starts.
"I really love the whole aspect of just getting together with a group of friends or a group of people that you don't even know and having a great time."
The tournaments were originally supposed to be held at the Southeast Event Centre, but due to some issues, have now been moved to the attached curling rink, Funk says.
