Strathmore's True North Society held their Spring Tea Fundraiser on Saturday, April 26.
The event took place at The Gathering Ranch and featured a fashion show along with the fundraiser.
"It was really awesome. We had a great turnout. The weather was really wonderful and everyone was dressed up. They were really sticking to the spring theme," said event and fundraiser lead Rochelle Mathieu. "We even had a couple of gentlemen participate in the fashion show, so everyone was really enthusiastic."
The event also featured dancing, trivia games, a silent auction, and a mimosa bar.
Mathieu says they raised around $3,500, which is just short of their goal between $5,000 and $7,000.
"It was just a really wonderful afternoon with a good turnout."
This was the first time that True North hosted the spring fundraiser, with them hoping to host another one next year.
"I would love to make it an annual event. I thought it was so much fun, and it was such an uplifting afternoon," added Mathieu. "There was a lot of connections."
True North serves to interrupt the cycle of abuse through empowerment and creating a safe environment for everybody.
