Christian artist Leeland is under doctor's orders not to use his voice after a recent discovery.

On Thursday, the popular Christian singer, who is also a part of the all-star collective, The Sons of Sunday, announced that he has severe vocal cord irritation and a small polyp on his left vocal fold.

"The polyp is very, very small and could go away with just vocal rest, which is what I’m hoping for," said Leeland in a post on Instagram.

Leeland says the doctors are not sure what the root cause is, which is making the situation very frustrating for the singer.

"Basically, my vocal cords are super sensitive, and I need to do some major lifestyle changes to address the underlying issues. Which is long overdue, haha."

Until he knows more, Leeland is now on vocal cord rest, with no talking or singing allowed for the next week.

"I have a follow-up with my ENT on Thursday of next week, the 8t,h to see if the irritation and the polyp have subsided," said Leeland. "Excited about what is to come, full of faith that Jesus is in control and expectant to meet with Him this week in the quiet."

Leeland is asking for prayer as he journeys down this road to recovery.
