“We’re a large company, but we have the small-town identity.”

Rocky Mountain Equipment has recently acquired Robertson Implements, but rest assured that you can expect the same level of care and service… with a few extra benefits.

The Swift Current RME team is comprised of branch sales manager Curtis Jorgensen, parts sales manager Aaron Werk, and service sales manager Dominic Toner.

Jorgensen notes that there’s always a little concern among staff when ownership changes hands. As ground level employees within Rocky, he says that the transition has gone over very well. Advantages include an expanded network of professionals across the prairies, increased equipment and parts availability, more staff members, and a larger fleet of work vehicles.

“We’ve gone from ten ag stores when we were Robertson’s, and now we’re 43 ag stores strong,” Werk states. “What we gain in that is parts inventory available for the customer. We have over $70 million in inventory across our branches, so when you need parts, you know that you can count on us.”

Familiar brands stocked at RME include Milwaukee, Traeger, MK Martin, Jaylor, Elmers, MacDon, and Honeybee. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just ask- they’ll source them for you.

RME’s commitment to satisfaction is visible in their new tagline- Right By You.

“When you’re broken down, when you need service, when you need parts, when you need equipment, we’re here to support you. We’re here to get you back up and running,” says Werk. “We’ve got our own internal trucks running five days a week, so if you need a part within our service area, we can have those parts within a day or two.”

Toner echoes the statement, noting that the slogan goes beyond parts and equipment.

“We want to do right by you as well. We want to do what we can in the fairest way possible. We understand that when it comes to agricultural equipment, parts, and the labor involved, there’s an extensive cost that goes alongside that, and we want to do what’s right by the customer in relation to making sure that the support we give is in a timely manner.”

Toner has also noticed that a hurdle for customers is the adjustment to RME’s way of doing business. Having gone from a small family-run business to a big corporately-run business, changes are everywhere.

“Things used to be done a certain way, and they’re no longer done that way. But RME will accommodate in the best way possible to try and get the farmer back up and running.”

Rocky Mountain Equipment recently hosted RME Days on March 26th at all RME stores- their biggest annual customer event. The event included food, demos, tours, and door prizes. Last year, RME’s event received a turnout of approximately 40 customers, but nearly 200 guests arrived to show their support and to learn more about RME this year. Toner shares that the turnout was encouraging, noting an increased familiarity with “RME” and “Rocky Mountain Equipment” phrasing.

“So many times, we use the acronym ‘RME’, and people say who is that? What is that? But if you say ‘Rocky Mountain Equipment’, people are more familiar with the full title. We decided as a management team that we want to try and make the people of Swift Current more familiar to the term ‘RME’. So the turnout that RME Days had this year indicates that people are starting to catch on.”
