There will be some changes to traffic flow along Highway 12 in Steinbach, beginning Wednesday of this week. This is to accommodate the work being done at the Highway 12 and Loewen Boulevard intersection.
The City of Steinbach has indicated that the service road along Highway 12, as well as Loewen Boulevard from Highway 12 to the west side of the Penner International driveway, and a portion of eastbound Millwork Drive approaching the service road/ Highway 12, will all be closed.
As well, both southbound and northbound traffic along Highway 12 will be redirected to use the northbound lanes south of Millwork Drive.
According to the city, there will be right-in/ right-out access from southbound Highway 12 to businesses near the Highway 12/ Loewen Boulevard intersection. There will also be right-in/ right-out access from northbound Highway 12 to Loewen Boulevard, east of Highway 12.
The changes will take effect Wednesday morning and will be in place until further notice.
The update to the traffic management plan is so that contractors can complete roadwork for the west side of Loewen Boulevard and the southbound lanes of Highway 12, as well as box culverts construction across the southbound lanes of Highway 12.
The city would like to thank all drivers and residents for exercising caution and followings signage when travelling in the area, and for their patience as work on this intersection renewal project continues.
