Alberta testing emergency alert system this week

The Government of Alberta will be testing its emergency alert system on Wednesday, May 7.

According to a social media post by Rocky View County, the test will be sent out just before 2 p.m.

"It’s only a test, but it’s also a great opportunity to check in with your household and talk about what you would do in a real emergency," wrote the county.

The county also recommends that residents download the Alberta Emergency Alert app on their phones.

"It is the fastest way to receive emergency notifications specific to your area, including those that could affect Rocky View County."
