An investigation stemming from December 4, 2024, in Luseland has come to a close.
Luseland Police Service, in partnership with neighbouring RCMP detachments, arrested 41-year-old Shawn Hartnell back on April 22. Hartnell was charged with two counts of credit card theft and forgery after a pair of fraudulent transactions at a local business.
"The value of these transactions was near $1000," started the report on LPS Facebook. "After months of investigating and receiving assistance from the public, our investigation is now concluded."
This investigation serves as a good reminder that the public can help the police. The LPS post shared that your phone call might just be what they need to close out a case.
"While our investigations take time to complete, we want to thank the community for remaining vigilant and for taking time to call or reach out to our service with information."
