The Town of Kindersley has welcomed two new tourism advisors who are hoping to bring energy, creativity and community spirit to the region’s summer season.

Kayden Lake and Evan Pelletier have joined the team at the Kindersley Museum and Tourism Centre. Both are passionate about the town and excited to help organize events and promote local tourism initiatives.

Lake, who has lived in the Kindersley area since 2011, said the community's warm and welcoming nature inspired her to apply for the role.

“Kindersley is an extremely close-knit place,” said Lake. “That really empowered me when I moved here, and now I want to give back by volunteering and putting on events.”

A graduate of Kindersley Composite School, Lake enjoys agriculture, hospitality and working on her family’s farm near Brock. She said she's looking forward to a change of pace this summer.

“I’m most excited for all the wonderful events we get to plan — Canada Day, tie-dye days, chalk on Main Street,” she said. “Getting involved with the community and meeting new people is going to be great.”

Pelletier, who was born and raised in Kindersley, is studying marketing at the University of Alberta. He said his interest in tourism stems from its ability to connect people and create lasting memories.

“Tourism brings people together, shares cultures and creates unforgettable experiences,” he said. “I’m excited to help host events, see what people enjoy and find ways we can build on that next year.”

Outside of work, Pelletier enjoys martial arts and playing both the trumpet and piano.

Both advisors will serve as friendly faces at the Kindersley Museum and Tourism Centre, where they’ll provide information about local attractions, events and services throughout the summer.

“We do advertising around town, but we’re always happy to see people in person,” said Lake. “Come visit us at the tourism station and grab a pamphlet.”

Kindersley’s tourism office is open through the summer months, offering information, resources and event updates for residents and visitors alike.
