RCMP are asking the public for help after a suspicious vehicle was reported near a rural property east of Leader early Wednesday morning.

According to a Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory, a woman driving a white SUV with mismatched Alberta licence plates approached a farmyard near Lemsford, off Highway 32, around 7 a.m. seeking help with fuel.

RCMP say the female driver followed the property owner into a Quonset and began taking photos of the interior and asking unusual questions. The landowner filled her vehicle with gas, after which the woman left the area.

The SUV had Alberta plate CRZ 6713, which RCMP say does not match the vehicle and is linked to property crimes in Alberta.

The suspect is described as being between 30 and 35 years old, with short blonde hair. She was reportedly wearing sunglasses, a dark sweater and blue jeans at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Leader RCMP detachment at 306-628-4600 or call 310-RCMP. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
