They’re nearly two decades in, and they’re still rolling out humming engines and happy customers!
Celebrating 18 years in business, owner and operators Kim and Kris Wikdahl, the husband and wife team of Kkwik Automotive, say that the clientele is what keeps the company passionate and motivated to continue doing business.
“We have amazing customers, and it’s an honour dealing with the great people that we interact with every day.”
Locally owned and operated out of Portage la Prairie, Kkwik Automotive strives to be a trustworthy business, helping their clients get to where they need to go in a reliable vehicle.
“First and foremost would be honesty- that’s the most important value,” Kim shares. “Education is the key as we try to explain as much as possible to our customers, so they can understand the repairs that they need for their vehicle. And they’re treated like individuals here- they’re not treated like a number.”
Wikdahl notes that being a small business allows them to establish and maintain much more personal relationships with their customers, including conversation and discussion without a middle man, ensuring that there is no confusion about the next step forward.
“We just try to do the best we can for repairs, and we talk with our customers honestly about their vehicles. We let the customer know the urgency of each repair, which can help them make educated financial decisions.”
So if there's something that is pressing that they need to have it done right away, we'll let them know. Or if there's a repair that can kind of wait a little bit.”
As costs rise left and right, and new vehicles become more and more expensive, Wikdahl notes that people are more receptive to preventative maintenance measures, taking those extra steps towards ensuring that their vehicle stays up and running.
“Everybody wants to have the best service for their dollar. They want to keep their vehicles as long as possible due to the uncertainty of the economy. So, we do the best we can to inform them of the repairs needed, with the customer always getting the final decision.”
Licensed journeyman mechanic Kris Wikdahl is the man under the hood, ensuring that vehicles across the Central Plains area are road-ready and smooth running. Services include oil changes, brakes, suspension, safeties, engine and transmission repairs, power steering, installation of remote starters, air conditioning, electrical work, and the list goes on and on.
Working together with their clients is what makes for the best outcomes, and Wikdahl hopes to continue serving their community in this way for years to come.
“We're super honoured that our customers put their trust in us, and we'll continue doing the best that we can to provide the best service that we can.”
